Hayley Allen

Sound Engineer

Starting with us as a Runner, Hayley's diligent pragmatism has seen her all the way through to her current role as Sound Engineer. She has a knack for staying calm under pressure, and is always ready to offer a helpful solution to challenges both work and fun related.

When she isn't tearing up tarmac on rollerskates, you can find her dazzling the studio with her latest culinary experiment.

Q&A with Hayley

What do you do at Liquid Violet/what does your job title mean?

I'm a sound engineer, so I'm usually in the studios, running sessions.

What’s the best part about your job?

As someone with no acting training or experience, I love seeing how actors interpret scripts and how the characters start to take shape.

What was your very first job?

Probably selling tickets at my local summer festival - unless we're counting my illustrious babysitting career?

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I rollerskate at skateparks, which basically means I fall over as a hobby, but I love it.

What fictional place would you like to visit?

The bathhouse from Spirited Away - just put me in one of those big baths and leave me there!

What’s one thing that you’ve never done that you would like to do?

I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, I'd love to get into surfing or snowboarding or go skydiving.

If you could become an overnight expert in something, what would it be?

I’d love to be able to play the violin without the ordeal of having to learn how to play the violin.

Any hidden talents?

Definitely flat pack furniture assembly. With great power comes great responsibility.
